Don't know if you ever shoot in B&W from the beginning, or just process to B&W? This looks like film... I fear young photographers that start in digital and never had the experience of shooting B&W film, may never gain the experience in seeing in B&W. It's a good study to go back to Minor White, HCB, and the F/64 school of Steichen,Stiegllitz and Paul Strand to learn to see in B&W
